Three pools step down the terraced gardens toward the Atlantic, all kept at 28°C through the winter: the lower two are the social ones, ringed by loungers and within reach of the swim-up bar. Even in February the water feels like late summer.
Pool stays in Tenerife
Tenerife is where Europe goes to swim outdoors in January. The south of the island holds 20-24°C through the whole winter, and the hotels have learned the one lesson that matters: an unheated pool in a warm winter is still a cold pool. The stays we list heat theirs properly, usually to 26-28°C, which turns a February morning swim from a dare into the best part of the day.
The geography does real work here: Costa Adeje and Playa de las Américas catch the most reliable sun, while the north around Puerto de la Cruz trades a few degrees for greenery and lower prices. Here's the thing about winter on the island: the heated-pool stays are a minority, the platforms don't make them easy to find, and they book out first. That gap is exactly why this list exists.
